An Arita, Kakiemon-style lidded bowl

Circa 1700

15.4 cm across

Of shallow lobed form and decorated with dragons, prunus, pomegranate and peonies.

Meissen adapted this uncommon form with the addition of branch handles; an example is in the Gardiner museum, Toronto.

Condition :
The bowl has been broken in half and restuck, with small associated chip filled.
