An Arita, Kakiemon-style lidded bowl

Circa 1700

Of shallow lobed form and decorated with dragons, prunus, pomegranate and peonies.

Meissen adapted this uncommon form with the addition of branch handles; an example is in the Gardiner museum, Toronto.

Condition – The bowl has been broken in half and restuck, with small associated chip filled.
