AN ITALIAN TEABOWL AND SAUCER

AN ITALIAN TEABOWL AND SAUCER

Attributed to Nove
The factory of Pasquale Antonibon, Venice
Circa 1765-70
Saucer 11.6 cm diam.
The teabowl incised ‘XM’

This finely decorated teabowl and saucer is most unusual in having a landscape covering the entire surface, we have not been able to find another quite like it.

The glassy glaze which pools to a light yellow and the incised mark on the teabowl, suggest a Venetian factory and since Cozzi wares are almost invariably marked.

The factory of Pasquale Antonibon at Nove seems the most likely.
