Reserved with black-edged quatrelobe panels on each side painted in the style of A. F. von Löwenfinck with polychrome ‘contour’ chinoiseries of brightly coloured figures engaged in various pursuits, highlighted in gold, the spouts, handles and inside wells with small single Kakiemon flower sprigs. The rims painted brown.

The designs on either side of one of the cups are taken from a coloured copper engraving published by Johann Christoph Weigel illustrated by Claudia Bodinek in Raffinesse im Akkord, Meissener Porzelanmalerei und ihre Grafischen Vorlagen, (SKD Kupferstich-Kabinett Inv. B 1156.2 / 11.2., p. 567, pl. 421).

Condition:
Some flaking to brown-edged rim
