Decorated with an allegory of love below the motto ‘Ame de me Ame’, with cupid seated before a fire within an elaborate cartouche.
The colour and design of the cartouche are very much in the style we associate with Bayreuth of the period. We cannot however suggest with any confidence that it is from the Metzsch workshop from the signed pieces we have at our disposal.
The impressed number or pressnumer indicates that the porcelain was made after 1738.
