The use of colour at Doccia can be surprising and, no doubt, reflects the artistic self-confidence of the Florentines. This distinctive green can be seen in combination with other bold colours but rarely alone.

This dish would presumably have formed part of a desert service but although the shell inspired form is well known, the monochrome green is unusual.
